Poet and multidisciplinary artist Ana María Caballero has spent the past decade taking poetry beyond the page, redefining how it moves through contemporary art. In this talk, she’ll trace how her poems become performances, sculptures, installations and computational systems, while considering what each new form reveals about the relationship between writer and reader.
Caballero will discussSpeech Patterns, a series that turns texts written for live performance into physical sculptures, asking how the architecture of a speech might persist beyond the moment of its utterance. She’ll also share two exhibitions currently on view:Read the Room, her first institutional mid-career retrospective at Francisco Carolinum in Linz, and In Your Own Words at Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, where visitors translate fragments of her poetry and place their own readings into the installation.

Ana Caballero is a Colombian-American poet and multidisciplinary artist working across poetry, performance, moving image, and generative systems. The first living poet sold at Sotheby’s and a Lumen Prize winner, she explores embodiment, memory, and the cultural ethics of emerging technologies. A Harvard graduate and Forbes writer, she cofounded digital poetry gallery theVERSEverse.
